Statement & Résumé

Kevin L. McKee

Artist Statement

Each painting is like a journal entry, serving as an expression and landmark. They are inspired by imagery from dreams, meditation, and free association, or evoked by music. I prefer not to title and impose any particular interpretation on them. Symbolic ambiguity is an essential aspect of the experiences I am trying to capture. Like with dreams, I try to use surreal elements to enhance a particular feeling.
